A Couple with Separate DWI Charges Obtain Dismissals

On behalf of Randall & Stump, PLLC in on Monday, February 4, 2019

Our clients, a young couple, were visiting North Carolina from Georgia. On their way back to their cabin after being out, the man missed a turn and went to reverse down the road. His car became stuck in a ditch, and another called for a tow truck, which also altered the police. When they arrived on the scene, the officers decided to charge the man with DWI, carrying a concealed weapon after consuming alcohol, and reckless driving.

To complicate matters further, when his girlfriend attempted to pick him up the next morning, the police conducted sobriety tests, and she was found above the legal limit. This led to her own DWI charge, and as a school teacher, a conviction would have some serious implications.

Our Charlotte DWI lawyers fought for these clients and persuaded the court to dismiss all of the charges without a court hearing or trial. This gave the couple the best chance at moving forward without DWI and various other convictions hanging over them.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
