Truck Driver’s Simple Assault Charge Dropped

On behalf of Randall & Stump, PLLC in on Tuesday, August 18, 2020

Sometimes road rage isn’t just on the highway. Our client, a truck driver, was the unfortunate victim of verbal harassment by an elderly man who thought he had not driven safely through the depot parking lot where he was dropping off cargo. Upon parking, he was confronted by this angry man, who yelled and pointed his finger in his face. The altercation was caught on video and shows our client maintained his cool even as this older man insults him.

When our client had enough of the belligerent behavior, he pushed the man to the side and asked him to leave him alone. Unfortunately, the elderly man lost his balance and fell to the ground. Police were called and our client was cooperative, but still charged with simple assault. We worked with the injured party and got the charges dismissed based on our client paying $800 in medical expenses related to the fall.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
