Assault on a Female Dropped, Protecting Military Career

On behalf of Randall & Stump, PLLC in on Thursday, August 20, 2020

On New Year’s Eve our client, who is in the military, had some friends over to his apartment, including his girlfriend. At some point, a heated argument breaks out and the girlfriend falls, allegedly because of a push from our client. Two other people at the New Year’s Party were eyewitnesses and did appear in court to testify that they believed our client pushed the woman.

There was no physical sign of injury, and our client claimed the girlfriend reached for a knife on the counter. Although the witnesses said they didn’t see that, there was a lot of confusion around the incident and negotiated to have the assault charges dismissed. This spared our client from any adverse consequences to his military career.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
