$140,000 Motorcycle Settlement Despite Insurer Denying Liability

On behalf of Randall & Stump, PLLC in on Friday, February 28, 2020

We recently handled a case for a motorcycle accident victim, who was seriously injured. The accident was caused by another driver turned left right in front of him, forcing him into oncoming traffic.

Our personal injury lawyers negotiated a $100,000 settlement with the at-fault driver’s insurance company for the policy limit. However, this was insufficient to meet our client’s needs. Therefore, we filed un underinsured claim with our client’s provider.

Our client’s insurance provider attempted to deny liability for their own client from the start, but our team relentlessly pursued all the compensation our client deserved. After considerable back and forth, and a measly 13,000 offer from the insurance company, we indicated that our next step would be filing a bad-faith lawsuit.

Now exposed to potential punitive damages in addition to the compensation they should have provided from the start, we successfully secured an additional $40,000 from the insurer. This gave our client the funds he needed to recover properly.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
